Written by on December 28, 2017

We live in a world that wants to label and classify everything and being addicted or playing video games excessively is no exception.

According to the World Health Organization you could have a mental health disorder if you play video games too much.

Excessive video game play or video game addiction could now be a mental health disorder called “gaming disorder.” If you are playing video games to the point you are not functioning in a responsible manner you could have this disorder.

The WHO now recognizing video game addiction as a disorder is only a clinical description and not a cure or treatment. Health care professionals will pretty much tell you if you do have the disorder to slow down on the game play.

Diagnosis of the gaming disorder consists of video game play on or offline for a 12 month period.
