West Seneca Couple Faces Felony Charge After Using a Fake Vaccine Card at Bills Game

At the last home Buffalo Bills game for the season, a West Seneca couple has been accused of using fake COVID-19 vaccination cards to attend the playoff game. According to Erie County District Attorney John Flynn, 34-year-old Michael Naab and 37-year-old Amber Naab presented falsified vaccine cards at Highmark Stadium. Since October 31st, proof of full vaccination is required to enter the stadium for any event. The couple was each charged in Orchard Park Town Court for one count of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree (Class “D” felony).

According to Erie County District Attorney John Flynn, this is the first case prosecuted in Erie County since the state passed the “Truth in Vaccination” legislation last was passed by Governor Kathy Hochul on December 22, 2021. “Truth in Vaccination” specifies that a vaccination card is considered a “written instrument” under New York State penal laws related to fraud. The couple is expected to be back in court on February 22, 2022, for a felony hearing, facing up to a maximum of 7 years in prison if convicted.
