Upstate New York Landlord Charged With Kidnapping Tenants For Not Paying Rent

Since Coronavirus pandemic hit the United States a lot of people lost their jobs and other people are losing their livelihood especially landlords with rent moratorium across the state.

One frustrated landlord from Albany decided to take matters into his own hands, Shawn Douglas is accused of kidnapping two tenants and leaving them at a cemetery early Sunday.
The frustrated landlord allegedly tied up the tenants at gunpoint covered their faces and drove them about 35 miles outside of Albany and left the couple for dead at a cemetery.
Shawn Douglas along with other landlords across New York state are frustrated because they can’t just kick tenants out from their property due to the band of evictions for people who can’t pay rent.
The landlord was arrested and charged with kidnapping.
