UPrep President Joseph Munno Retires After Speech Of Valedictorian Goes Viral

The Board of Trustees of UPrep (University Preparatory Charter School for Young Men) announced Monday they have officially accepted the retirement of Mr. Munno the schools president.  
According to News10 WHEC the president of UPrep’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Edward Yansen said “It is the Board’s responsibility to put the best interests of the school and its students at the forefront.” 
Dr. Yansen also said, “The Board of Trustees recognizes the role that Mr. Munno has played in helping establish the school and creating a robust educational experience for young men living in Rochester. Given the situation and considering the mission and values of UPrep, we have accepted his retirement, effective Monday, July 9th. We are initiating an immediate national search for new leadership.”
Jaisaan Lovett’s speech went viral after Mayor Lovely Warren provided him with the platform to give his speech at City Hall.
