After the tragic event that took place in Buffalo, Buffalo leaders are working to get the Jefferson Avenue Tops operational again. According to Mayor Byron Brown, the evidence collection phase of the investigation has concluded and now the goal is to reopen the store.
Tops Friendly Markets President John Persons stated: “It will take some time to identify a specific timeline for opening. We want to make sure that is done right and we open it in a respectful manner for our employees and community at large. You have our commitment we will do that – make sure we will open this store, and an honor to the victims of this tragic event.”
Until the store is reopened, Tops will continue to provide a daily shuttle to other stores in the area and is supporting mass food distribution sites.
