Want to donate blood? Saturday January 29th from 10 AM to 3 PM at Rochester Academy of Medicine located at 1441 East Ave, There will be a sickle cell awareness blood drive. About 1 in 13 African Americans carry the sickle cell trait, Estimated 100,000 in the US have Sickle Cell Disease, and approximately 2,000 babies are born with Sickle Cell Disease each year in the US. Latinos have the second most common incidence of Sickle Cell Disease in the US. Shout out to State Assembly man Demond Meeks for helping get the word out.
