Senators Introduce Resolution That Would Cancel Some Student Loan Debt

New York & Massachusetts Democratic Senators Chuck Schumer and Elizabeth Warren, are looking for ways to jumpstart the economy.
One of the ideas they are looking into involves cancelling student debt for Federal borrowers.
Yesterday, the Senators introduced a resolution that asks the president to cancel up to $50,000 of student loan debt in an attempt to heal the economy.
Warren and Schumer issued a joint statement that read:
“In the middle of an economy that’s been badly hit by the pandemic, the student debt crisis acts like an anchor, preventing a swift recovery and restricting opportunity and prosperity for millions of American families.”
