When it comes to allergies Rochester, New York made the list for the worst places to live for allergies. If you have a tough time with allergies during certain seasons or year round it’s not necessarily you it’s partly where you live.
The City of Rochester came in eighth on the list for worst city for spring tree pollen. It was 20th overall for allergies. The study was done by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.
Some of the reasons why is the long and cold harsh winters we experience in our region. The longer time frames for triggers and more intense allergies are due to climate change and rising temperatures globally. This leads to longer growing seasons and that means more pollen.
Here is an interesting fact our neighbor Buffalo, NY ranks 100 for the LEAST challenging cities.
