Rochester General Hospital Nurses Vote For Union

Nurses at Rochester General Hospital voted in favor of forming an independent union. 431 nurses voted yes to joining the Rochester Union of Nurses & Allied Professionals (RUNAP), against 296 no votes. The vote comes after claims of unsafe conditions and poor retention. The outcome will still need to be certified by the NLRB before the result is declared final; which could take at least seven days if no objections to the conduct of the election are filed.
