Rochester Businesses Prepare For Federal Mandate

Due to an upcoming federal mandate, 80 million workers will be given the choice to get the COVID vaccine or get tested weekly, or if you work in healthcare there may not be a testing option. In the greater Rochester area, the mandate could affect nearly 700 businesses that employ more than 100 workers.
Mary-Joy Lipari, who owns two at-home elderly care businesses based in Greece, stated: “I personally stand to lose anywhere from 40% to 50% of my business and my employees. So that’s going to be a pretty tough hit…We have to work with our clientele as well to ask them to understand that this may cause a change in either the timing of their services, the length of their services, or the frequency of their services.”
