ROC the Day Raises Over $1 Million

December 1, 2022

November 29th was ROC the Day, the annual day of giving organized by the United Way that encourages people to donate to local charities and non-profits in a 24-hour window. This year, a record-breaking 600 nonprofits registered and in addition to that, with more than 8,000 donations, the event raised $1,084,892.

Jaime Saunders, president & CEO of United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes, stated: “ROC the Day is a reminder of all the good there is in our community. The current economic downturn paired with the aftermath of the pandemic has put a strain on nonprofits, but year after year, our community shows up for our nonprofits in big ways and sets a remarkable example of generosity.”
