Written by on November 19, 2021

So RG&E is at it again and we are giving you a heads up!

In case you missed the certified letter or haven’t received it yet RG&E is warning customers about their indoor meters. According to the letter if you have an indoor gas meter you must have it inspected by RG&E it is mandatory.

If you refuse to have your meter inspected you will be hit with a $100 fine on your utility bill. RG&E said if you are charged the $100 you will be credited once you have the safety inspection completed. However, some people have reported they were charged the $100 fee even though they had the inspection done.

Some homeowners have also said they scheduled the inspection appointment but a representative from the company never showed. RG&E said it is aware of the no-show issues.

Also, if you had your meter inspected and were charged the $100 fee you can call RG&E but also make sure you file a complaint with the Public Service Commission. You can file a complaint with the PSC by clicking here or calling 800-342-3377.
