As we are in pothole season remember you can call 311 to report potholes in the City of Rochester.
The reason this time of year potholes become an issue is because of the freeze and thaw cycle that happens day to day. When water freezes it makes the road expand and buckle so as the water melts or evaporates traffic and gravity causes the potholes.
Typically manholes are where most of the issues take place so there is a new regulation in place that concrete has to be around the manholes.
The City of Rochester’s Director of Operations Karen St. Aubin says to call 311 to report potholes and the city will be out to do the repair within 3 business days.
