Pharrell Williams plans to open a group of small nonprofit private schools in Virginia. The Grammy-winner said in a press release in which he called out the current state of affairs regarding the school system, according to The Virginian-Pilot. “We don’t want lockstep learning where so many kids fall behind; we want bespoke learning designed for each child, where the things that make a child different are the same things that will make a child rise up and take flight.”

The first school is said to be opening on Sept. 7 in the Ghent area of Norfolk. The school will be devoted to students in grades three through five. The goals include expanding its summer programs, with a curriculum focused on STEAM — science, technology, engineering, art and math. To Read More Click Here.
