Pandemic forces local event hosts to cancel several Rochester festivals

As of this week, the Fairport Canal Days, Corn Hill Arts Festival, and Park Ave Summer Art Fest have all been canceled until 2021. The Fairport Canal Days, which were to take place from June 5 to 7, 2020, were canceled with no new date yet scheduled for 2021. Organizers for the 2020 Corn Hill Arts Festival, the Corn Hill Neighbors Association Board of Directors, announced via a press release on Wednesday, April 8, that they were following health recommendations and canceling the festival that was originally supposed to take place on July 11 and 12, 2020. They have yet to announce the new dates for 2021. Soon after, the Park Avenue Revitalization Committee decided to do the same. Originally scheduled for August 1 and 2, 2020, the festival is scheduled to return on August 7 and 8, 2021.
These cancelations are in addition to the 2020 Rochester Lilac Festival and 2020 Rochester International Jazz Festival postponements:
Organizers for the Lilac Festival announced the suspension of their festival, which was originally supposed to take place May 8 to 17, on March 20, 2020. The organizers hope to reschedule the event for some time this year, but they are also refunding tickets when requested through info@RochesterEvents.com.
Organizers for the 2020 CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival announced the postponement of the event originally scheduled for June 19 to 27, 2020 on April 2. They’re currently attempting to reschedule the event for some time in the fall of this year.
