Operation FIRE Set to Help RCSD

Written by on November 21, 2021

In order to help combat the ongoing violence at the Rochester City School Districts, a group called Operation FIRE is ready to take charge. FIRE stands for ‘Fathers Initiating Restorative Engagement,’ which is part of a nationwide campaign that encourages fathers and supportive male figures to offer help to students and staff in areas of high violence.

George Warren, an RCSD parent and organizer of Operation FIRE, stated: “Like everyone else, we see the turmoil that’s going on in the city and we wanted to do something. This was something we could do now that we felt would have some impact. We also want to start building those relationships that kind of eroded over the past. We can change the temperature of the room. We can help and we can make a difference. We just encourage fathers and men of the community to get off the sidelines and give them some help and direction on how they can help and where they can help.”
