NY GOP Chairman Langworth Pushes Gov. Cuomo to release Full Contract for his $5.1 Million Pandemic Book Deal

Written by on May 20, 2021

New York Chairman Nick Langworthy is pushing Governor Andrew Cuomo to release the full contract for his pandemic book deal. This book deal is allegedly set to earn Gov. Cuomo at least $5.1 million. The governor’s book publisher halted the promotion of the book back in March when the governor’s administration was accused of undercounting COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes. Employees of the governor’s office had recently made the claim that they were pressured into helping work on the book while on the job. Currently, the state attorney general is investigating this situation. A spokesperson for Cuomo stated that there are no current plans to reprint the book; ‘American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic.’

Chairman Langworthy stated; “Profiting off the deaths of thousands of New Yorkers in the middle of a pandemic was gross enough on its face, but it’s clear that Cuomo also committed crimes in the process. This entire deal has been shrouded in secrecy and it’s time to lift the veil on Cuomo’s corruption. New Yorkers have a right to full transparency and the public deserves to see the contract that paid their governor more than five million dollars in the middle of a crisis that has left more than 52,000 New Yorkers dead. Andrew Cuomo must release the full contract and the truth must come out.”
