The race for Monroe County District Attorney is reaching its finale, but that hasn’t stopped any of the action. Since the two, Shani Curry Mitchell and Sandra Doorley, have yet to have a public debate, News10NBC’s Deanna Dewberry sat down with each candidate to learn more about their stances on the issues.
It’s evident in these interviews that both women are very passionate, and very different. Shani Curry Mitchell, running for D.A. for her first time, “puts a strong emphasis on diversion programs – balancing the needs of the victim and fairness for the accused”.
This is a very different approach to that of current Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley, who is running for her third term. Having served in the D.A.’s office since 1992, she considers herself “a law and order prosecutor”.
