New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie Visits Rochester

Yesterday, New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie paid a visit to Rochester. Heastie joined Assemblymember Sarah Clark for a tour of the Lexington Community Farm in Rochester, stating: “Sarah wanted to bring me here to look at this wonderful garden and explore all the possibilities that can come from this, simply educating our children and just people in general, potential job opportunities.”

During Heastie’s visit, he took the time to speak on the vaccine mandate for healthcare workers, the mandate that was implemented on Monday. Heastie stated: “I spoke to the governor last night. She says she believes she’s going to be able to handle the shortages…I’m a COVID survivor, so I take it very seriously, and I just want to urge everyone to get vaccinated. It wasn’t an easy time, although I didn’t have severe symptoms, but I can only imagine. But I do think we need to get as many people vaccinated as possible.”
