NC school district wants to ban “Skinny” Jeans

Written by on May 20, 2016

The state of North Carolina appears to be rubbing everyone the wrong way with their attempt to implement new policies and rules. First was the idea of delegating which restroom a transgender should be using; now one of the city school districts is trying to banned/limit the wearing of skinny jeans on campus.

Policy 8520 states that no skinny jeans, leggings or tight fitted clothing can be worn without the proper length top or cover up (the top must cover the buttocks entirely). As expected, the policy experienced some serious backlash, but the school district is gearing their decision towards an anti-bullying campaign— stating that this policy may prevent plus size girls from being teased when wearing tight clothing.

I see what they’re trying to do, but style is personal, and skinny jeans are trendy. Good Luck with this one NC.
