Mural recognizing the 100-year anniversary of the 19th Amendment goes up on West Main st.

Written by on August 9, 2020

I was driving west out of downtown on Main St. yesterday and noticed a small group painting on the side of the Sew Green building. Turns out a group of youth muralists came together for this project to support woman, girls, diversity, inclusion and to honor the 100-year anniversary of the 19th Amendment on August 20th of this year.

The text on the mural is based off of a Susan B. Anthony quote from 1896, the mural reads: “Bicycling…has done more to emancipate woman than anything else in the world… It gives freedom and self-reliance.”
