The numbers are back from New York’s first ever early voting period and it seems the initiative to increase voter turnout has paid off.

According to the New York State Board of Elections, more than 256,000 residents participated in early voting. Of that total, 13,892 of those individuals were residents of Monroe County.

Of the nearly 14,000 voters in Monroe County, 3,564 cast their ballot at Penfield Town Hall which saw the largest amount of voters during the early voting period.

If you didn’t get a chance to cast your ballot during the early voting period, don’t worry! Polls are open today until 9 p.m., so you still have time. Make sure you get to your polling location before it closes, make sure your voice is heard!
