Minimum Wage Increase At University Of Rochester

The University of Rochester said it plans to raise the minimum wage to $15 by 2022. The university made the announcement on Wednesday and said the goal is to raise the wage by December 2022.
They plan to implement the increase through two stages the first will be this year in December. The second phase will finally be in December 2022. U of R is a part of the Rochester-Monroe Anti Poverty Initiative. It says the minimum wage boost will help to advance the goals of the initiative by lowering poverty.
The RMAPI did praise the university and said the minimum wage increase will have a profound effect on this area.
Mayor Lovely Warren also praised the university.
