Last Chance U is a documentary on junior college football players trying to make it to a division one college football programs. It chronicles the lives of the players, coaches, programs and town where they play.

The latest season of “Last Chance U” follows Laney College in Oakland. What’s great about this story line isn’t so much, football but the life and circumstances of how tough it is for these junior college football players. Laney College Football is coming off a championship, when the season starts. Coach Bean, his staff and administrators truly care about these young people. But like any classic coach or program, they want that W. This season talks just as much about football, as it does about the gentrification of the town of Oakland. The storylines are rough and real on how these young people have lived thru so much tragedy and loss. They are amazing young men. Finding a way to persevere under difficult circumstances.
