Kayne West Debuts New Album in Atlanta

In preparation for his upcoming album, Kayne West held his Donda Listening Event in Atlanta. Kanye also received an honor from the city. According to TMZ, on the same day as his listening event, the City of Atlanta presented Atlanta-born rapper West with a plaque backstage at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and officially proclaimed July 22 Kanye West Day.
Kevin James, president of Morris Brown College, presented West with a token of appreciation, honoring his late mom, Donda West. Donda taught at Morris Brown College for nearly two decades and was chair of the English Department. Donda passed away on November 10, 2007. It was reported that this was a very emotional occasion. Kanye’s family, including Kim Kardashian, their children, and Khloe Kardashian, were next to Kayne when he received the awards.
