Foodlink will be on the move all summer long helping to make healthy and affordable food more accessible to the public. On the 13th of July, the kind souls behind Foodlink and the crew from the WDKX Jam Squad all came together at 111 Chestnut street, Reformation Lutheran Church, to bring awareness to Foodlink’s Curbside Market.

I’d have to say, spending time at the Curbside Market was a breeze… literally. Within the time that we were at the Reformation Lutheran Church, the wind was constantly blowing items off our table and the hot sun was beaming on us whenever we stepped from under our tent. At our table, the Jam Squad gave people an opportunity to fill out a registration form for a chance to win 2 free tickets to the Rochester Summer Soul Music Festival in August.

Across from us, Foodlink’s Curbside Market had vegetables and fruits for a very low price. Eggs were sold for only a dollar and from my personal experience, buying strawberries, their produce is indeed very fresh. While eating a sample of their strawberries, I instantly got my credit card and bought myself a container full of strawberries for only two dollars. I shared my strawberries with the rest of the WDKX Jam squad and we all enjoyed them.

For anyone that’s interested in Foodlink’s Curbside Market, I would advise you to contact Mark Dwer at (585) 443-5056 for more info. For more updates on future concerts and other opportunities, stay tuned 103.9 WDKX.
