Harriet Tubman Will Be The New Face of The $20 Bill
Today marks another joyous moment in black history. What was once just a dream is moments away from becoming reality; or should I say currency. Our US Treasury Department has kept its word, and a woman will now be the new face of the $20. What woman in American history that upholds such prestige? Well Harriette Tubman of course. Ms. Tubman is recognized for her vital role in the liberation of thousands of slaves via The Underground Railroad.
This decision not only signifies a breakthrough for African American history, but more specifically, black women will walk a little more proudly; speak with more conviction; and execute without fear. Our contribution to this nation is finally being recognized atRacqui B. level we never imagined.
The new bill is scheduled to debut in the year 2020.
