If you’re celebrating Thanksgiving, chances are the centerpiece of your dinner — the turkey — came from Minnesota. The Land of 10,000 Lakes produces about 40-50 million turkeys every year, the most of any state in the country. As a whole, the U.S. produces roughly 240 million turkeys annually, and according to the U.S. Census Bureau, about two-thirds of them come from just six states. In addition to Minnesota, top producers include North Carolina, Arkansas, Virginia, Missouri, and Indiana. Bon appetit!
