Rochester Youth Sports Foundation Announce

Registration Extension for the Gus Macker 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament & Special Public Market Promotion

Representatives from the Rochester Youth Sports Foundation announced that the online registration deadline for the 2019 Gus Macker 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament has been extended to Thursday, June 20 at 11:59 p.m.

In addition to extended online registration, the Macker Mascot will host a special on-site registration opportunity from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 15 at the Rochester Public Market, 280 N. Union St. Players who register in-person on Saturday at the Market will be entered into a drawing for a $100 Wegmans gift card.

The tournament, said to be the largest, longest-running 3 on 3 basketball tournament in the world, will be held on June 29 and 30 at the Downtown Riverside Festival site (located at the corners of Exchange Boulevard and Court Streets, adjacent to the Blue Cross Arena). Presenting sponsors include the City of Rochester, 103.9 WDKX and Wegmans. All proceeds from the Gus Macker tournament support local youth sports programs through the Rochester Youth Sports Foundation. Athletes and spectators will enjoy a weekend full of family-friendly activities including a youth talent showcase, bounce houses, fun challenges and the highly coveted dunk contest. Admission to the festival site is free.

Started in a Michigan driveway by a pair of brothers and their friends in 1974, the tournament now includes dozens of cities across the U.S. on its annual tour. The Rochester event, now in its third year, is expected to draw hundreds of teams from the Western New York region, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Canada for two days of competitive basketball for players all ages and abilities.
