GRHF creates new mission to help local non-profits meet community needs

Written by on February 1, 2020

The Greater Rochester Health Foundation(GRHF) has come up with a new mission so that they may help non-profits in the community meet the underserved needs of people in the area.

GRHF CEO and President Matt Kuhlenbeck said that last year when they reflected on their work from previous years, they felt that the mission statement they had in the past was not a reflection of the work they were currently doing and the work they were planning to do. So they decided to craft a new mission statement that was better in line with what the Foundation wanted to achieve within the community.

One of the ways that the GRHF is pouring into the community is through a program called the Community Health Grant Program. This program is designed to help small organizations that are trying to make a difference in their communities.

Last year, the GRHF awarded the grant to the Rochester Black Nurses Association. The donation was to help provide youth and mental health training for the members of the Association as well as the community as a whole. The money also helped them provide resources to young adults in the community who were in crisis and needed them.
