Governor Kathy Hochul Responds to Backlash About Her Comments on the Vaccine

Governor Kathy Hochul is responding to criticism that she received after her Tuesday new conference where she made comments about religion and COVID. At a church in Brooklyn, Governor Hochul stated that the COVID-19 vaccine is “from God,” as well as referring to parishioners as “apostles” while urging them to get the COVID vaccine, which was caught on video.
Governor Hochul stated: “ “When you are in a church and you are talking to people who believe in a higher power as I do, I used a message I believe would connect with them. If I can convince someone to go, and in a sense, not be my apostles, but be apostles for the cause, which simply means you’re out there promoting something because you truly believe in it. If I can convince one more person to get the vaccine and it results in someone not getting COVID and saving a life, people can criticize my delivery.”
