Governor Kathy Hochul Expands Vaccine Mandate

During a news conference yesterday, Governor Kathy Hochul announced that she has expanded a COVID-19 vaccine mandate to include people working in the Office of Mental Health and the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities who work in hospital settings. The employees that were added to this mandate must have their first dose of the vaccine by November 1st.
Governor Hochul stated: “I have to speak clear-eyed and laser-focused on the priorities that I must have as the governor of this state. And that is to protect people’s health. And we feel confident that this is the approach that has worked.”
