Governor Hochul Announces NY Plan for Vaccine Mandate in Schools

Over the weekend, Governor Kathy Hochul announced her plans to bring the vaccination requirement for all school-age children in New York. However, before this would be able to take effect, the decision must first pass the state legislature.
Governor Hochul stated: “This is certainly something health departments all across the country are looking at. Every vaccine children have before they go to school has to be authorized by state law. Not every state follows this…I spoke to the governor of California and he has this in place for next fall. He did not have to go to the legislature the way it is constituted in New York. I will be having those conversations.”
