Governor Cuomo Bans Tractor Trailers And Buses On Thruway Starting 8pm Tuesday

Governor Cuomo’s office announced that due to the frigid temperatures and snow expected in our area all buses and tractor trailers are banned from traveling on the Thruway.

The ban went into effect Tuesday at 8pm and will last the duration of this hazardous weather which will include blowing snow and temperatures will be below zero with -30 wind chill possible.

You should not be traveling unless it is necessary.  

Starting at 12pm  Wednesday, tractor trailers and commercial buses will be banned on Interstate 81 from the Canadian Border to State Route 104.

Governor Cuomo has directed a Level 3 activation of the State Emergency Operations Center in order to prepare for and assist with any potential emergency response activities.

Please make sure all outside animals are brought in or they have adequate shelter and it is warm enough for them.

Check on people you know have a hard time getting around at home, be safe, do not use generators indoors if power is lost, bundle up, stay warm, and drive safe.
