Planning a “Game of Thrones” party on Sunday night? You are not alone. That means unless you requested the day off Monday, May 20th, Monday could see a lot of people calling in sick.
With the series finale for HBO’s biggest hit show since “The Sopranos” coming up this Sunday, experts are expecting a large number of people to call in or have low productivity at work on Monday.
According to a new survey from the Workforce Institute at Kronos Incorporated conducted by The Harris Poll, one-third (34%) of employed U.S. adults plan to watch “GoT” Sunday night. That’s an estimated 27.2 million U.S. employees!
People are planning “Game of Thrones” parties like they would Sunday night Super Bowl parties, which we all know traditionally have resulted in a lot of people calling in to work the next day.
Whatever you decide to do on Monday, I wish you the best of luck. “Plan your excuse, and then work your excuse.” As for me, I’m going to be at work on the Wake-Up Club talking about what happened the night before on Game of Thrones.
Don’t miss Reign and me on the Wake-Up Club Monday morning for our review of the “GoT” series finale, only on 1039 WDKX!
