It’s that time of year again. Students are attending college fairs, visiting colleges and universities around the country and generally gearing up for higher educational opportunities. But after you do all this preparation and finally start the application process, the one question that pops into every parent, guardian or student’s mind is, “How the heck are we gonna pay for this???”

It’s no secret that going to college can be extremely costly, and the process to securing financial aid can be downright intimidating. Well, I’m here to tell you that you have resources! Not only that, but these services are local, free and open to the public.

Thanks to the efforts of Rochester Educational Foundation (REF) and Rochester Educational Opportunity Center (REOC), there are several different FAFSA Fests scheduled throughout the rest of this year at a variety of locations in the city of Rochester.

The FAFSA Fest makes it easy to apply for financial aid for college by providing help from financial aid representatives and access to computer stations and internet/wifi. These events will also provide students and parents with information on other outside resources available to them.

Here is a schedule of all upcoming FAFSA Fests and their locations:

These events are FREE and open to the public, all you have to bring is yourself, a parent or guardian and 2018 tax return information.

For more information on FAFSA Fest, as well as other resources available to aspiring college grads, visit rochestercan.org and/or reoc.brockport.edu. To get text alerts about these events, text ROCFAFSA to 51555.
