Donald Glover surprises fans with album release

Donald Glover has worn a lot of hats during his 36 years on this world. Besides his career as an actor, producer, director, writer and comedian, he is also a DJ and has created and released music as Childish Gambino and under his own name.
Some time overnight on Sunday, March 15, Glover directed fans and others on social media to DonaldGloverPresents.com where they found a new album. The site doesn’t reveal much. Instead, it displays a white background, the “Donald Glover Presents” statement and apocalyptic line artwork. Pressing the play icon reveals a 12-track song collection on a loop that includes some of Glover’s hits under both the Childish Gambino and Donald Glover names and songs that feature Ariana Grande, SZA and 21 Savage. Glover’s management confirmed the site by re-tweeting the link.
With so many entertainment events suspended or cancelled as a result of the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19), many entertainers have released online content this weekend to make it easier for people to handle isolation and school and work cancellations. Many museums are promoting virtual tours and actress Rita Wilson has released a quarantine playlist. Although there’s no word yet as to whether Glover’s album was always intended for release over this weekend, the DonaldGloverPresents.com artwork suggests that this is a special release.
