D.C. Mayor Says, Stay at Home or You Could Go To Prison

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is not playing with Y’all! She issued a stay-at-home order to help slow the spread of coronavirus. Violate the order, and you will charged with a misdemeanor and subject to a $5,000 fine, 90 days in prison, or both.

As of Wednesday, April 1st. Mayor Bowser order specifies that residents may only leave their residences to Engage in essential activities, including obtaining medical care that cannot be provided through tele-a-health and obtaining food and essential household goods. Perform or access essential governmental functions and work at essential businesses, and Engage in essential travel.

Mayor Bowser said the order will remain in place through April 24.
