Cocaine Found In 4 Month Old Baby

Well known Arizona media couple appeared in court on Monday on charges of possession of a dangerous drug, drug paraphernalia and child abuse.  Somchai, 42, and Krystin Lisaius, 26, both employees for Tuscan News, took their 4 month old daughter to the medical center after she demonstrated unusual sluggish and distressed behavior.  A urine test revealed that the baby had cocaine in her system.  I know what you’re thinking “How the heck did a 4 month old end up with coke in her bloodstream?” Well apparently the Lisaius’ are party animals.  After a night of drinking and drugs, Mrs. Lisauis breastfed her baby girl, and the cocaine was transferred through the breast milk.  Innocent mistake? Maybe.  Careless? Very.  Now the couple are childless, jobless, and stuck behind bars.

Do you think the couple should do the minimum based on the circumstances?  It’s not like she intentionally harmed her baby.
