Chicago Man Gun Down While Going Live on Facebook

Written by on April 1, 2016

On Thursday, March 31st, a very disturbing video began circulating around Facebook and Twitter.

The video captures a young Chicago man filming himself, via Facebook’s new “Go Live” feature, in front of a convenience store, before suddenly being gun down by an unknown assailant. The video commenced with the young man greeting his viewers, and moving his phone around as if to showcase his current location. In the midst of his intro, the viewer is able to notice the man’s focus change from the camera to nearby action. At this point gun shots begin to sound off, and the camera captures what appears to be the phone falling to the ground. While on the ground the viewers can witness another black male firing back at the attackers. This incident seems so surreal that some viewers are certain that it was just a hoax. However, the Chicago Tribune has confirmed that the event was real, and the victim/camera man is listed in critical condition at Mount Sinai hospital.

Very unfortunate incident that only adheres to violence stricken reputation of Chicago.
