black-ish Is Back With Two Part Election Special!!

ABC hit series black-ish kicked off its season 7 last Monday. The first episode of the season was about Junior voting for the first time and it was a good one! If you want to get a really good understanding of voting and how it works especially for black voters this episode breaks it down very well.

This is why black-ish is one of my favorite shows to watch. The way they take on and discuss current issues affecting the black community and the world but break them down and explain whatever the issue or topic is. A good history lesson about black culture and history infused into a 30-minute television show with comedy, seriousness, fun and a dash of love is a genius way to reach and teach people.

If you have a young person who thinks voting won’t change anything or means nothing this episode might help them understand a little bit better.

In this episode, Junior finds out he is not registered to vote because he was purged from the voter roll. He begins to research voting and voting rights only to find the truth.
