(USMagazine.com) A funk-tastic evening. Beyoncécelebrated her 35th birthday at a star-studded Soul Train-themed party at the NoMad Hotel in New York City on Monday, September 5 — and the guest list was absolutely insane.
The “Hold Up” singer partied in style at the ’70s-esque soirée, where she rocked a cleavage-baring yellow blouse, gold hot pants and fishnet stockings before changing into a sequin, one-legged ensemble.
Beyoncé’s husband, Jay Z, arrived in a paisley-print button-down shirt, black pants and several thick gold chains. He later channeled Jimi Hendrix with an Afro wig, a bandanna and a military-style jacket.
The birthday girl’s fellow Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams also attended the rooftop party, where they danced the night away in disco attire.
Several A-list attendees took to social media throughout the night to share photos and videos from the exclusive affair. Usher (who attended with his wife, Grace Miguel) shared several clips on his Snapchat account, while Chance the Rapper tweeted a sweet pic with Queen Bey herself.
Other guests at the fun-filled bash included Beyoncé’s sister, Solange Knowles, as well as Kendrick Lamar, Serena Williams, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Cassie, Janelle Monáe, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Chanel Iman, Carmelo Anthony, La La Anthony, The Dream, June Ambroseand Chloe x Halle (the R&B duo who appeared in Beyoncé’s Lemonade film and are signed to the singer’s Parkwood Entertainment record label).
As the stars sang “Happy Birthday,” Beyoncé and Jay Z’s adorable 4-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, briefly stole the spotlight from her mom as she posed next to the massive cake and got on the mic to say, “Happy birthday, Mommy!”
On Monday, the “Formation” entertainer thanked her family, friends and fans for their birthday messages on her Instagram account. “I just want to say thank you to everyone for all the beautiful and thoughtful birthday wishes,” she wrote. “I am so fortunate to have the love and support of my family, my friends and my hive. We’ve grown up together and you guys continue to inspire and motivate me every day. I’m so grateful for every challenge, every smile, every tear, every discovery, every sacrifice, every triumph, every stretch mark, every kiss, every scar. I strive to make you proud. I love YOOOUUUU!!!”
