There is a “no wake zone” in place for Lake Ontario in Monroe County.
That means boats within 500 feet of the shoreline are limited to a speed of 5 mph to prevent high waves and potential flooding.
Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo has issued a state of emergency Thursday due to high water levels along Lake Ontario.
The speed limit is in effect for all other waterways in the county including the Irondequoit Bay, Braddocks Bay, and the Genesee River.
Ok, that’s all for now.
Safe travels,
