Another Death Reported From The Flu In Monroe County

Monroe County Health Department reports five people have now died from the flu since October 1, 2019. The February 1, 2020 reports 3011 people have been confirmed to have the flu. That’s the total of 1106 cases with Flu A and 1905 cases with Flu B.

There are 402 reported number of hospitalizations for the flu across the area. The people at the greatest risk of getting the flu are the very old and very young according to the Monroe County website. Four people that died from the flu were older than 75 and one case the age was 4 years old.

There are some things you can do to keep from getting the flu. The most important make sure you stay away from people that are sick and frequently washing your hands. For more ways to prevent yourself from getting sick or flu symptoms go to CDC.gov.

Other ways are keeping yourself in good health overall is find a good primary care provider and check on your current state of health. Create a plan. Drink plenty of water, exercise, eat more fruits and veggies, also get enough rest.
