Strong Museum Video Game Finalists

Yesterday, the Rochester Strong Museum announced its twelve finalists for the World Video Game Hall of Fame in Rochester. The World Video Game Hall of Fame received thousands of nominations for consideration for the 2022 class. Video game fans can vote online till March 24 as part of a “Player’s Choice” ballot at worldvideogamehalloffame.org. Once the votes are counted for, three games that receive the most public votes will form one ballot and will join the other ballots submitted by members of the International Selection Advisory Committee. The Internation Selection Advisory Committee is made up of journalists and scholars familiar with the history of video games and their role in society. The final inductees will be announced on May 5th. Their finalist are:

  • Assassin’s Creed
  • Candy Crush Saga
  • Dance Dance Revolution
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • Minesweeper
  • Ms. Pac Man
  • NBA Jam
  • PaRappa the Rapper
  • Resident Evil
  • Rogue
  • Sid Meier’s Civilization
  • Words with Friends
