Simone Biles Makes History At 2016 Olympics


A moment in black history made by Simone Biles this past Sunday during the closing ceremony of the 2016 Olympics!

Simone is the first gymnast to carry the flag since 1936 and the first African-American gymnast to ever carry the flag.

The only concern Simone had about carrying the flag during the closing ceremony was the fact she is so small and the flag so big it would be too heavy.

But none the less Simone slayed!

Congratulations to Director Ava DuVernay for becoming the first African-American woman to direct a $100 million dollar budget film at Disney!

Ava DuVernay who directed Selma is now one the select few filmmakers to direct a major movie with a budget in excess of nine figures.

The film she is on board to direct is ‘A Wrinkle In Time’ based on the1964 book by Madeleine L’Engle.

‘A Wrinkle In Time’ is expected to hit theaters in 2017

President Barack Obama Makes History Again


I’m pretty sure there are a lot of folks who are quite displeased with President Barack Obama as he makes history again Wednesday.

President Obama granted 214 commutations to federal inmates making it the most ever in a single day. This brings the total amount of federal prison sentences cut short to 562 during his presidency.


Most of the releases are low-level drug offenders with unreasonably long mandatory minimum sentences.
