Texas High School Team Takes Knee Instead Of Winning Game

An incredible story of humanity and compassion. Texas high school team took a knee to lose the game for a player on the opposing team who was seriously injured during the game and air lifted to the hospital.

The teams coach, David Colschen said  “If we do go and try to win the game, do you really celebrate that.”

“It was a very teachable moment for both teams to remember the moment you take a stand for what’s greater for humanity not what the scoreboard says,” said Colschen.

16 year old girl dies after bathroom brawl turns fatal

Amy Inita Joyner-Francis is seen in a photo from her Instagram account.

Howard High School of Technology in Wilmington, DE is mourning the loss of one of its students after a bathroom brawl turned fatal.  Early Thursday morning 16-year-old Amy Joyner was involved in a fist fight with a classmate.  What began as a one on one scuffle escalated into Joyner being jumped by a group of girls.  In the midst of the chaos Joyner’s head banged against the bathroom sink, which placed her in a critical state.  She was later airlifted to a nearby children’s hospital where she died of her injuries.  Witnesses admitted that the altercation was over a boy, and Amy entered the bathroom with intent to reason with the other girl.  A vigil was held Thursday evening for the sophomore.   Her peers remember her as a confidant who didn’t believe in fighting, which makes the cause of death even more tragic.
