39-year-old Varonica Richardson, who is accused of stabbing a woman employee at Upstate Nail Salon in Gates speaks to news reporter from New10NBC on camera with her sister who is wanted in connection with the stabbing.
Reporter: “Is that a reason to stab somebody?”
Richardson: “No, it’s not a reason to stab someone.”
Reporter: “So why did you do that?”
Richardson: “Well, I was accused of stabbing this woman because she picked up a brown object — whatever it was — and started throwing it.”
“To be honest my intentions were not to stab the woman worker,” says Richardson. “She jumped in front of him and that’s how she got stabbed.”
Reporter: “I think you can clearly see you reach toward her.”
Richardson: “Right, but she jumped in front at that point.”
