Bills Hire Full-Time Female Assistant Coach

Buffalo Bills on Wednesday announced that Kathryn Smith is the team’s new special-teams quality control coach, making her the first full-time assistant in the NFL.

Smith is well-known to Bills head coach Rex Ryan: she began her career with the New York Jets as a game day and college scouting intern, then became a player personnel assistant in 2007, a position she held for several years; Ryan was hired as head coach in 2009. In 2014, Smith changed positions and became assistant to the head coach.

Buffalo Bills Release Fred Jackson

On Monday, the Buffalo Bills took to the field to practice but one impacting component was missing. That impacting component was Veteran Running Back, Fred Jackson.

Fred Jackson, 34 was dismissed over the weekend by the Bills.

He was the longest tenured player on the roster and the franchise’s 3rd leading rusher.

It’s so weird seeing the Bills playing without Jackson because less than two weeks ago I sat in on an interview with Jackson with ESPN Rochester 95.7.

He is such a humble individual who doesn’t want to give up football quite yet and was working hard to recover from his common and painful injuries. In the interview Dan Borrello asked him does he see himself in any other jersey after he is done. Jackson replied “I don’t know.”

Even he couldn’t predict that he was going to be cut and his last time wearing a Bills jersey would be in Training Camp.

Here’s a little background information on Fred Jackson:

  • Birthday: February 20th,1981
  • Hometown: Fort Worth Texas
  • College: Coe College
  • Played indoor football when he was told he was too small for the NFL
  • Joined the Bills in 2006 as a free agent
  • Consensus All-American (2002)
  • United Indoor Football co-MVP (2005)
  • NFL All Purpose Yards leader (2009)
  • First player in NFL history to compile 1,000 rushing and 1,000 kickoff return yards in a season (2009)
  • 2010 Bills Walter Payton “Man of the Year” award
  • 2× NFL Ground Player of the Week
  • Ranked #83 in the Top 100 Players of 2012

With his release Doug Whaley stated, “He’s been the heart and soul of the Buffalo Bills for a long time. He’s a tremendous person not only on the field but what him and his family have done in the community.”

We wish Fred Jackson a sad goodbye and success in his future.

Buffalo Bills OL Coach Aaron Kromer Arrested

If witnessing your hometown team struggle season after season or hear rumors of a player sliding into an adult film stars DMs wasn’t enough, the Buffalo Bills continue to upset their fans.

With training camp coming up very soon you would think everybody would be on their best behavior, right? Well it is the NFL and with all the controversies happening in the sports world it is not surprising that another incident has occurred to make fans wonder “What is going on?”

Early Sunday morning, Buffalo Bills offensive line coach Aaron Kromer was arrested in Florida on a misdemeanor battery charge. He allegedly punched a boy in the face and threatened to kill his family.

In a statement released by the Walton County sheriff’s office, Kromer and his son allegedly confronted three boys, who had been fishing on the beach, over the use of beach chairs.

Kromer, 48 was upset that the boys took the chairs from where they were at originally and took his anger out by pushing one of the boys to the ground and punching him in the face. He then told the boys to return the chairs where they found them and that he would kill their family if they reported him to the police.

Aaron Kromer was booked into the Walton County Jail at 1:51 a.m. ET and was released on bond at 3:10 a.m.

“We are aware of the report and in the process of gathering the facts,” the Bills said in a statement released later Sunday morning.

The NFL is reviewing the case, a source told ESPN…

Punching a boy over a stolen chair? The sports world has gone crazy in the last couple of months and this arrest shows the fans that some people in the public eye should remain out of it. Hopefully he learns his lesson and doesn’t get dismissed on his first season as the OL coach.

The Bills have an interesting season ahead of them but on the other hand training camp is coming up July 31st through August 25th. Come out for football fun.

Buffalo Bills Fans #GoodLuck

So the Buffalo Bills set record season ticket sales for 2015. Being that I am a Denver Broncos fan this doesn’t impress me. What will do the trick is the Bills actually having a winning/record breaking season.

Now,  it may sound like I’m a hater (I’ll admit I used to despise the Bills during Jim Kelly era) BUT I have grown to tolerate the Bills. Will I ever love them?… hell naw!

I wish the Bills and their fans the best in the 2015 football season. Hopefully, Buffalo’s record season ticket sales are a forecast of what we can expect from the franchise during the season. After all the fans are doing their part!
