Happy Parent

With the advent of social media the amount of negativity is overwhelming so seeing a happy comment about a school I felt compelled to post this:

“… As a single/divorced  parent of four children being able to afford a Free quality high school education for my children is extremely important. Both myself and my son, Omar, looked at all public and private high schools and nothing compared to the right match for his learning style. Vertus has provided leadership skills, a brotherhood culture and a pathway for educational success beyond the classroom and high school. Omar is looking forward to a Division one collegiate education.”

Warmly,

Christina  Wofford
Proud Vertus Parent
Omar McBride’s mother

Resting B***h Face

Resting B***h Face

Is this really a big deal or not?

Personally I hate when people refer to this phrase because sometimes it can come off very offensive. I myself am victim to this phrase. I have been told this because I guess I don’t have a permanent grin on my face. But who cares!

Check my picture out below. Would you consider this a “Resting B***h Face”?

GI’s Review on Compton

Fresh off the heels of Dirty Sprite 2 and Dreams Worth More Than Money, Dr. Dre drops the long awaited “Detox” album cleverly entitled Compton.

The soundtrack to movie Straight Outta Compton is packed with hardcore beats and rhymes fit for a hip-hop junkie and Dr. Dre enthusiast, with features from west kings such as Snoop Dog and Kendrick Lamar to name a few.  It’s very rare for me to be excited by today’s music with all off the disposal music these days, but I must say I’m extremely satisfied with this body of work.  Tracks like Genocide, Darkside/Gone, Satisfaction and Animals are just a few of the tracks that I like the most.

Overall this is what hip-hop has been missing.  Dope beats and lyrics with substance.  Not to bash Future and Meek Mill, but they are nowhere close to comparison with Compton.  Definitely a must have in your collection.  Dr. Dre strikes again!!!

Crazed Man Kills His Wife and Two Dogs

I am going to warn everybody before reading this blog.

Qualifications to Read:

  • Must be sane
  • Have not wanted to harm another
  • AND MOST IMPORTANLTY HAVE THE RIGHT MIND NOT TO TRY THIS AT HOME!

WARNING:

  • This is a disgusting and unfortunate incident
  • PEOPLE ARE REALLY CRAZY
  • If you have a crazy boyfriend/husband or girlfriend/wife keep an eye out on them!

Okay now that we got all the precautions over with. In Phoenix Arizona a man is facing charges of first-degree murder and two counts of animal cruelty. The charges have come after he mutilated his wife and two dogs July 25th.

43 year old, Kenneth Dale Wakefield, was apparently high on drugs when he stabbed his wife multiple times before slicing off her head. Allegedly, the reason for slicing off her head was that he was, “trying to get the evil out.”

I don’t know where he heard that killing somebody gets the evil out of them but obviously he talks to God because he told the neighbor that everything was okay since God forgave him.

Sorry hunny but I don’t think forgiveness is what you need. I think he really should go to a mental hospital. But oops I forgot he was released from the facility months before the killing.

SMH, so is the mental health facility a fraud? He was released and then ended up taking away somebody’s beloved life. Isn’t this backwards?

The real question is will he be sent to jail or back to the mental facility? I think he needs to serve time but you know how the courts love declaring mental illness.

Rochester Twilight Criterium

When: Saturday, August 15

If you’re not familiar with bicycle racing, you may be wondering what a crit or criterium is. It’s just a bicycle race, right? Yes, a criterium is a bicycle race, but it isn’t just a bicycle race. A criterium is a really cool kind of race that features relentlessly high-paced racing on a short closed loop course that gives spectators plenty of access to the action.

Spectator admission is free. New this year is the Food Truck Rodeo and Beer Garden. There is still time to register as a racer; deadline is August 13th

drone sparks prison brawl

A prison brawl in Ohio was sparked in an unusual way — after a drone flew over the yard and dropped drugs and other contraband, according to an incident report.

The mayhem broke out on July 29 just after 2:30 p.m. at Mansfield Correctional Institution in Mansfield, Ohio.

According to the report, surveillance footage showed a drone that “passed over the recreation yards immediately before the fight began.”

The drone dropped a package, which was intended for one inmate, but someone else picked up the package, sparking a fight.

“The package was purportedly then thrown over the fence to the south recreation yard,” the report says.

Responding officers used pepper spray to break up the fight and ordered the inmates to get on the ground.

More than 200 inmates — 75 from the north yard and 130 from the south — were taken to the gyms where they were strip searched. It was not clear how many were involved in the fight.

No staff or inmates suffered injuries, the incident report said.

In one of the prison’s equipment rooms, guards found a package containing 144.5 grams of tobacco, 65.4 grams of marijuana and 6.6 grams of heroin.

The housing units that were in the yards at the time were placed on restricted movement, the report said.

It was not clear if any inmates faced charges or were disciplined.

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction declined to comment beyond the report.
